Always 67 Lyrics

Written by Perfect State

Verse

They can talk, they can stare, they can scroll right past
If you know then you know and you never look back
Something in the numbers that you can't explain
Once it hits you in the chest it's never quite the same

Pre-Chorus

Don't ask where it came from
Don't ask where it leads
Pop the sign up once
That's all you'll ever need

Chorus

It's always six-seven (six-seven)
It's always six-seven (six-seven)
Don't need a reason
It's always six-seven
It's always six-seven (six-seven)
It's always six-seven (six-seven)
Every single season
It's always six-seven

Verse

Not a trend, not a brand, not a thing that you can buy
If you felt it then you felt it, no need to ask why
Came from nothing, built from nothing, no one gave the green light
Turned into a movement in the middle of the night

Pre-Chorus

Don't ask where it came from
Don't ask where it leads
Pop the sign up once
That's all you'll ever need

Chorus

It's always six-seven (six-seven)
It's always six-seven (six-seven)
Don't need a reason
It's always six-seven
It's always six-seven (six-seven)
It's always six-seven (six-seven)
Every single season
It's always six-seven

Bridge

Could've been nothing
Could've been gone
But the world picked it up
And decided to hold on
No instructions
No manual
Nobody said to care
But look around
Six-seven's everywhere
It's always six-seven (six-seven)
It's always six-seven (six-seven)
You already know the reason
It's always six-seven
It's always six-seven (six-seven)
It's always six-seven (six-seven)
Every single season
It's always six-seven

The Story Behind Always 67

A few words from us on why this song had to exist.

Always 67 is the song for the people who never needed it explained. There's two kinds of folks in the world right now: the ones who have to ask "wait, what does 67 actually mean?" and the ones who just throw the sign up because they feel it. This song is a love letter to the second group.

The opening line says it all. "They can talk, they can stare, they can scroll right past, if you know then you know and you never look back." Six-seven was never going to make sense to everybody. Some people would always squint at it. That's fine. The song is on purpose written from inside the bubble, looking around, with nothing to prove to anyone outside.

The pre-chorus, "Don't ask where it came from, don't ask where it leads, pop the sign up once, that's all you'll ever need", is basically the manifesto. We're not going to explain it. The whole point of the gesture is that you don't have to. Everything that requires a paragraph of context is already over. Six-seven survives because it doesn't have to be defended.

The bridge is the most honest moment on the song. "Could've been nothing, could've been gone, but the world picked it up and decided to hold on." That's the truth nobody talks about with viral things. Most of them die in a week. Six-seven didn't. The world chose to keep it. There was no algorithm decision, no agency strategy, no mandate from above. People just kept doing it. That's the actual miracle.

We named the song Always because that word does a lot of work. It's defiant: yes, always, even when it's not cool anymore. It's romantic: like a tattoo or a vow. It's a little bit a joke, because of course nothing is forever, but pretending something is forever is its own kind of joy. All those readings are correct.

If 67 (The Sign) was the song for joining in, this is the song for the people who never left. Every single season. Always 67.
